WCMS 8th Graders Design and Build a Chair in STEM Project

WCMS 8th grade students in Ms. Easom and Mr. McCauley's classes were given a scenario and had to solve a problem.  The scenario included the students finding themselves stuck in a strange place that did not have any chairs! In this strange place, no one had chairs to work at their desks or computers.  Students were to come up with a chair design and construct the chair using only cardboard and tape.  The final product had to hold the weight of a typical person.  

Students, using the engineering and design process completed the task.  The chairs were judged by certain criteria.  See the winners for each class below.  

Ms. Easom's class winner was Luceous Britt.
