SS Fair at Monroe High Southwest Georgia Regional Social Studies Fair

Worth County Middle School students Braidyn Williams, Judge Dallas, and William Crowe recently competed in the Southwest Georgia Regional Social Studies Fair held at Monroe High School in Albany, GA. Each student won 2nd place for their work.

Young Ga Authors 2019 WCMS Winners of the Young GA Authors Competition

WCMS congratulates the grade level winners of the Young Georgia Authors competition:  Ansley Young - 6th grade, Ryan Lumpkin - 7th grade, abd Stephanie Bass - 8th grade.

WCMS Tennis Teams 2019 Worth County Middle School Tennis is Back!

The WCMS Tennis Team is back and competed in their first match on March 6th against Cook County. The team is coached by Alexius Davis. One of our girls' doubles team comprised of Laney Goff and Mackenzie Jolley won after extended play in a tie-breaker.

 

Unity Baptist Donation WCMS Gives Donation to Unity Baptist

WCSS has jeans days at each school. Proceeds are donated to a charitable organization. WCMS has chosen to donate the proceeds to Unity Baptist Church. Thank you to Unity Baptist for all of the good deeds that you all do within our community.

School Bus New Bus Safety Law - Senate Bill 25 Signed into Law

Governor Kemp signed into immediate effect Senate Bill 25 to improve school bus safety for families and children across Georgia.  Click below for more information about SB 25.  

WCSD Students at 4-H District Project Achievement Worth County 4-H'ers Compete at District Project Achievement

Worth County 4-H’ers competed at District Project Achievement recently. These students created portfolios and presentations in different subject areas. Three WCMS and three WCHS students competed in front of judges at Rock Eagle 4-H Center, Eatonton, GA. Click below for results.

ITGMagazine SGA Player of the Year Worth County Students Recognized at the In The Game Magazine Awards Banquet

In The Game Magazine holds an annual banquet to recognize the best athletes in South Georgia.  Congratulations to Nan'Travious Toomer, South Georgia Middle School Player of the Year.  WCHS students Jordan Curry and Tayshaun Shipp were also recognized as Worth County Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year. WCMS Head Football Coach is Austin Newton and WCHS Head Football Coach is Frankie Carroll. 

Snowman ornament painted by WCMS student WCMS Student Starts Fundraiser: Warm for Winter

WCMS 6th grader, Emma Watson, is changing her world one ornament at a time.  She has painted beautiful wooden snowman ornaments for family members this year as Christmas gifts and decided to use her God-given talent for a greater cause.  She recognized that many students at her school were in need of basic necessities.  She decided to turn her love of art into a fundraiser called Warm for Winter.

Date Change for Georgia Milestones WCES & WCMS Georgia Milestones End of Grade Testing Dates - UPDATE

Due to missed instruction during our weather days this school term, the Georgia Milestones End of Grade (EOG) testing dates for grades 3rd through 8th have been changed to ensure all students are afforded adequate instructional time.  The updated EOG dates are April 15-23, 2019.  Please update your calendars to ensure all students are present each day for testing.
WCMS-April 15-19 and WCES-April 15-23.

WCMS had a Veteran's Day Celebration on Friday, November 9th.  A banquet was held in the Media Center to honor faculty, staff, and parents who have served or are currently serving in our military.

Worth County 4-H Teen Leaders FY19 Worth County 4-H Teen Leaders

4-H Teen Leaders serve as leaders for county events leading younger 4-H'ers while providing assistance to adults leading 4-H programs. They can also serve as teen chaperones of younger students during trips and attend 4-H summer camp as chaperones/positive bridges between younger 4-H’ers and adults.

WCMS Spirit Cheerleaders 2018 UCA Camp WCMS Spirit Cheerleader Summer Camp 2018

WCMS Spirit Cheerleaders hosted their home camp over summer break at WCMS gym.  Universal Cheerleaders Association participated in the camp to help coach the girls on fundamentals and team building skills.

As we begin the 2018-2019 school year, WCSS continues to focus on student safety on our school buses.  Riding a school bus is an extension of the school day and students are expected to follow the same rules of respect and follow directions as they would in the school building.  Please find the WCSS Bus Transportation Rules for 2018-2019 at the link below.

The Board of Education approved the 2018-2019 District Calendar at the December 14th BOE Meeting.  

Title I Distinguished Schools Georgia Intradistrict Transfer Option

The intradistrict transfer right does not apply to this Title I School since Worth County Schools has only one elementary, middle, or high school.
