Students at WCES participated in International Dot Day, which is Sunday, September 15th, by creating a piece of art that is in the shape of a dot. International Dot Day started with a little girl named Vashti who didn't think she could draw. By the encouragement from her art teacher who told her to just make a mark and see where it takes you, Vashti continued drawing her dots and also developed a newfound confidence. Students have also been learning about Wassily Kandinsky, an influential Russian painter and the creator of the first modern abstract painting. Pictured above is a collection of student work from last week.
