Ms. Tina Pate, Worth County High School’s Work-Based Learning (WBL) Coordinator, was one of 20 teachers in Georgia to attend Georgia’s first class of Top Gun; the best of the best in Work-Based Learning. In partnership with the Governor’s Office of Workforce Development a workshop was organized to provide specialized training to a select group of WBL coordinators. Coordinators completing this training received credentials and were “pinned” in a WBL Top Gun recognition ceremony at Georgia Association of Career Technical Educators (GACTE) Summer Conference in July. The selection of participants was based on the self-reported FY14 WBL Data Report. Using a specially devised point system, three coordinators were selected from the SW Region which included Worth County, Thomas County, and Grady County. Each Top Gun participant received a Marketing and Public Relations tool kit which will enable them to more effectively market and brand their program and increase connections with the business and industry sector.
