My name is Mr. Altouvas and it is my pleasure to welcome you to my online Spanish
instructions. The purpose of this web site is to give you a chance to keep up with the
curriculum. My goal is to bring together present, past and future students. I teach a
standard based classroom which means that everything you are about to learn in my
class or on this site is State based. I know learning a foreign language is a challenge,
but I believe you can excel if you are dedicated to the tasks outlined in these courses.
I believe that each and every one of you can learn Spanish and perfect your English
both from the instructions in class and online. I will be with you every step of the way
and will be available on designated days for after school tutoring. My expectations in
regards to your learning are high and you are going to have to work to meet them.
Plan on designating at least 30 minutes to an hour each night for studying your Spanish
vocabulary and daily notes. You should make it a habit from the “get go” to keep your
notebooks current on a daily basis. This will benefit you greatly in case of a notebook
check or simply in case of a pop quiz. We will be working in groups often and I will not
tolerate any disrespect directed towards me or your fellow students. We are a team
and will support each other in the learning process. Above all, I want your learning of
Spanish to be a fun and rewarding experience. I want you to understand the importance
of having to learn Spanish in the United States. There is not an official language in
North America. My goal is to provide you with a competitive edge needed in an ever
growing global market. I look forward to having a great year with each of you.
Remember! There is not such a thing as a bad question! Ask me if you do not understand!

¡Hasta Luego!!

Mr. Altouvas
