Seven New School Buses Arrive for Worth County School District

New 2018 Worth County Schools Buses

In continued efforts to update the WCSD bus fleet and keep students safe, seven new buses were purchased recently. One of the seven buses is handicapped accessible.   The Thomas Built Buses are equipped with an abundance of safety features.  Radio enhancements include a speaker mounted outside and a better sound system inside.  Jake Brakes add a quick stop feature.  There are front seatbelts for the younger students and each seat has appropriate height and padding.  The buses include four window emergency exits, two roof hatch emergency exits, and a backdoor emergency exit.  Temperature control is provided by two overhead A/C units and a floor mounted heating system.  Side mirrors are remotely adjustable from inside, along with the adjustable steering wheel and air ride driver seat.  The student safety alarm button which allows for drivers to ensure all students have departed the bus has been updated to include a time-sensitive feature.  As always, student safety is a number one priority for Worth County Schools.  Remember to always slow down and stop if you are nearing a school bus that has flashing lights which indicate the bus is preparing to stop or is stopped to allow students on and off.
