Effective immediately, Worth County Schools will only allow access to video surveillance evidence to school principals and district-level administrators to resolve discipline issues or other behavior issues occurring in our school and on our school buses.
All students are protected under FERPA (The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act), protecting their identity, student records, etc. from people other than their parents. The practice of allowing parents and others access to video surveillance jeopardizes each students’ FERPA rights, thus making this change in practice necessary to safeguard all students’ federal protections under FERPA.
