Worth county Schools Opening Meeting

On July 24th, the opening meeting for all Worth County Schools staff kicked off pre-planning week and the beginning of a new school year.  All staff gathered at WCHS starting their day with breakfast prepared by the WCHS School Nutrition staff.  Everyone in attendance enjoyed a time of catching up with co-workers and sharing their excitement for the new school year. The meeting started with the WCHS Color Guard presenting our flag, the Pledge of Allegiance, and the National Anthem.  Mr. Bill Settle, Superintendent of Schools recognized Mr. John Tibbetts, Georgia Teacher of the Year.  Mr. Butch Jenkins, Chairman of the Board of Education recognized Mr. Tibbetts' achievement with a proclamation.  Mr. Tibbetts shared his heartfelt thanks for the honor and spoke about having real collaboration in schools, encouraged teachers to “find a partner,” and to step out of comfort zones in order to reach the educational goals we have for our students here in Worth County.  Our new Superintendent of Schools, Mr. Bill Settle shared a personal introduction and his beliefs he brings to Worth County Schools:  students first and educating the whole child.  Worth County Schools are off to a fantastic start for the 2017-2018 school year!
